"You know Shaarav, what papa says, if we keep this
peacock feather inside notebook, it will turn into two if we are good." said Naina with a sparkle in her eyes while she was placing the feather amidst the pages of her notebook.

"Here, you too have one” Naina handed Shaarav the extra feather that she was carrying.

"We will see whose feather duplicates first, OK? Then the other person will have to give a Melody chocolate, Deal?" asked Naina to the innocent, introvert Shaarav. He nodded gently in agreement.
Every day after the class, Naina checked her and Shaarav's notebook, to see whether the magic occurred or not. She was left disappointed each time.

"Magic isn't real Shaarav, our feathers are not duplicating." Naina yelled while sobbing one day.
Next day, after the class, Naina didn't check her or Shaarav's notebook for the new feather. Shaarav slid the notebook towards her and gestured that she should look into it. Miracle it was! The feathers had duplicated and Naina had two feathers. She jumped all around the class and screamed in joy, "Magic is real, I am a good girl, Magic is real, I am a good girl."

Shaarav enjoyed this scene and kept smiling all the time.

"Let me see if you are a good boy." said Naina mischievously and opened Shaarav's notebook to see that his feather was missing.

"Oh God! Where is your feather?"

"I lost it." muttered Shaarav.

"Oh! It means you are a bad boy." giggled Naina. "Why do you keep on losing your stuff all the time?"

Naina then picked the extra magical feather and put it in Shaarav's notebook. "Here, now don't lose this."

"You know, that was the day when I said to myself, 'She is the one. She is my best friend.'" said Shaarav, holding Naina's hand, while she was lying on her death bed.

"I am really grateful to you that you understood me as a person and stood there with me during the ups and downs." said Naina holding his hand more firmly.
